Although it has now left my hands, it has given me an opportunity to contemplate the significance of artifacts, including this Japanese sword, which has been passed down through generations. Many of the Japanese swords we encounter today have gone through numerous individuals before reaching our hands. Along the way, they may have changed in shape or incurred damage, sometimes even gaining greater value. If they had remained in their original form since their creation, they would likely possess tremendous value. However, I believe that Japanese swords, even those altered due to unexpected circumstances or societal demands, still carry a valuable history. Some argue that changing the name of a Japanese sword diminishes its value. On the contrary, I have come to believe that the very reasons and background behind the name change are what make the sword even more valuable.
